The stats about stress are alarming* and today’s reality promotes stress as a way of life. Our minds, spirits and bodies require de-stressing constantly. Zesty can assist with managing, releasing and dissipating your stress with a variety of modalities, sessions, practices, tools and techniques – we can find something that will suit YOU and recommend a practitioner, if necessary.
(*According to the American Institute for Stress, 77% of people regularly experience physical symptoms caused by stress and 73% experience psychological symptoms caused by stress. That’s three-quarters of the population and Canadian statistics are similar. Stats Canada reports that (work) absenteeism due to stress has increased by 300% since 1995. AND, this is crazy – Canadian statistics report that 75 – 90% of all visits to primary care physicians are for stress-related complaints!! What!!??)
Some ideas for stressing less:
#1 – BREATHE! Just breathe. Stop wherever you are and take 20 slow, deep breaths. Ah, doesn’t that feel better. Breathing deeply calms the body and the mind. When we’re stressed we tend to hold our bodies tensely and take shallower breaths – depriving ourselves and our brains of much-need oxygen. Just breathe – so simple.
#2 – Get your Bars run! Book Zesty for an Access Consciousness Bars™ session to ‘de-frag’ your brain and quiet that ‘monkey mind’, releasing limiting beliefs and blocks you didn’t even know were running your life. Sessions last approx 90 mins and the benefits last forever! One session is $150 or 3 for $375 (see Bars explanation below or contact Zesty for more information and for testimonials)
#3 – Find a de-stressing technique like meditation (http://meditationforbeginnersinfo.org/). Even 5 minutes can help.
#4 – Get a massage
#5 – What do you do for fun and relaxation? Oh, right, we don’t ‘do’ fun and relaxation these days. What if you did? Some of Zesty’s relaxation favourites are reading, knitting, cooking, long walks or hikes, dancing around to favourite music, cuddling the cat… even a few minutes of a relaxing activity can help calm your ‘nerves’ and slow down your adrenaline overdrive. Find a park or body of water and go for a walk
#6 – Stand up. Did you know that just standing up every 15 minutes is a huge contribution to your body?
#7 – Take a yoga class, or, even better, find a Yoga Nidra session (sooooooo relaxing). Carolyn also hosts Yoga Nidra events in her studio. Please contact us for details.
#8 – Ask me about Body Whispering… or Symphony of Possibilities sessions… so cool and life-enhancing!
What are “The Bars”?
The Bars are a series of 32 points on the head, which when lightly touched release old energies stuck in the brain and the body, allowing for tremendous and easy change (kind of like cleaning out the files in your computer). This release occurs when the bars are touched; it allows that stored junk to be released – forever. At worst you will feel like you’ve had an amazing massage. At best, this can change your life!
One recent testimonial: “I’m just not getting stressed like I’ve always done – and that’s after only one session! I can’t wait for my whole family to have sessions with you!”
